In 2000, Eastern Kentucky University introduced an online degree, the Master of Science in Safety, Security & Emergency Management to help safety, security and emergency management personnel excel in their careers.
New Name and Increased Options
In response to the continued changes in these fields, Eastern Kentucky University is offering an even wider range of options in the online program. The program changes include offering new concentrations and certificates and a new name, Master’s Degree in Safety, Security & Emergency Management. In addition to a multidisciplinary track that allows you to customize the curriculum to fit your career goals, this new program offers degree concentrations and certificates in:
Concentrations and Certificates
Each concentration and certificate is comprised of four courses (12
credit hours) which can be added as a focus within the larger, 36-hour
degree program or taken as a certificate for students who are not ready
to pursue the full degree, but want the benefits of additional
instruction in Homeland Security, Occupational Safety, and Fire &
